GEMS (Government Employees Medical Scheme) offers several benefit options. We currently submit claims directly to GEMS for the three options below.

How Your GEMS Claim Is Processed

Your consultation is exactly the same either way — the same doctor, the same video call, the same quality of care. Only the payment method differs.

At checkout, choose Medical Aid and enter your GEMS membership details.

We Submit to GEMS

We send your claim directly to GEMS for real-time processing while you wait — no paperwork on your end.

Confirmed, or Pay by Card

If GEMS confirms payment, you're done. If we don't receive confirmation, you'll be asked to pay by card to keep your appointment.

💡 Either way, your appointment goes ahead as booked. Payment method never changes the care you receive.
⛔ Who can use GEMS for this consultation? Only the principal/main member or a registered dependent recorded on the GEMS option may be billed for the consultation — the patient's name and SA ID number must appear on the scheme's current membership records.
  • You may not use a family member's medical aid if they have not been formally registered as a dependent on that scheme.
  • Submitting a claim outside these rules constitutes medical aid fraud, a criminal offence under the Medical Schemes Act 131 of 1998.
Full details and the required declaration are presented when you submit your claim.

Chronic and repeat scripts are issued at the treating doctor's clinical discretion. Scheduled medication (e.g. sleeping tablets, ADHD/stimulant medication) is not guaranteed and depends on clinical assessment.
